Whether a call or text, you have to find a way to communicate. Sometimes aim just won't do, you may actually need to hear someone's voice to feel like you're having a real conversation. And then again, when on the go you might have an important message to deliver via text.

College isn't just about partying (but don't try to tell that to the frat boys), there are such things as classes, too. Here you will find the lecture halls, the labs, and the regular classrooms. So bring your notebooks cause class is in session.

If you are planning on living on campus, then the dorms are where it's at. There are three areas where dorms are located, all with different personalities. Hopefully you chose the right area for what you are looking for or it could be a miserable year.

Forced into buying a meal plan by your parents, now it's time to put your University Card to good use. Swipe your U-Card and you get an unlimited amount of food from Borns's Dining Hall.

Students are allowed in this lounge for it is their own. Staff members rarely come into the lounge therefore leaving it unoccupied by faculty giving students freedom to do as they please.

You've got a big paper due in the morning and your roommate is blasting some music in your room, so where do you go? The university's library, of course. Boasting twenty floors filled with books, spare computers and study spaces it's the perfect place to cram for a test and to study. Bonus, it's open 24/7.

Whether for richer or poorer, or perhaps somewhere within the middle, majority of the Detroit population have places to reside during the night hours. The neighborhoods vary as do their residents; each and every home is unique within its own.

There's a creek, benches, large trees, a picnic area, and lots of grass. People like to take their dogs down here.

Sun, surf, and sand. Don't forget your sunblock. These are the docks. There are little stores here, as well, and a great sunset.

This is the hospital. You've got your emergency room, and then you've got, well, the rest of the hospital.

It's the mall! Everything and then some. Biggest shopping mall in all of De-train.

A pretty trashy bar. Definitely not the best, but it does attract the darker side of the nightlife.

A Barnes & Noble's bookstore, complete with Starbucks.

Bowling! It's an old building, and a bit grungy, but it's not terrible and it's perfectly functional.

The gym. It has all sorts of exercise equipment, a pool, classes, and just about everything else you could want.

No, it's not a shitty bar, but yes it's pretty shitty. A run down warehouse where drug deals go down and drug dealers get caught. It's really up to you whether you want to get caught up in all the hype of drugs and sex.

No big city is complete without an Irish pub. They have a good selection of beer and wine, and food usually associated with England and Ireland, such as fish and chips and bangers and mash.

Well some people don't possess as much will-power as the rest and just have to eat sometimes. Pansies.

Marley's is mostly a café, but they also have great coffee and Internet access.
